The Death on the Nile Reboot Features Gal Gadot [Trailer]

This looks spectacular. An absolutely star-studded ensemble cast is rebooting the 1978 movie Death on the Nile - itself a movie adaptation of the 1937 Agatha Christie "who done it" classic murder mystery novel.

The movie features Kenneth Branagh as the investigator Hercule Poirot who features in many of Christie's novels and stories including Murder on the Orient Express (also a recently rebooted movie with Branagh), whose story actually begins in Jerusalem. The rest of the star-studded cast includes Armie Hammar, Emma Mackey, Annette Bening, Sophie Okonedo, Rose Leslie (from Game of Thrones), Russell Brand, Letitia Wright, Ali Fazal, Tom Bateman, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and of course, Israel's very own Gal Gadot, in the lead female role.

The 1978 version featured Lois Chiles in Gadot's role, Mia Farrow, Peter Ustinov (as Poirot), Bette Davis and even Angela Lansbury, better known for the series Murder She Wrote.

The movie is a murder mystery set on a luxury cruise on the Nile River in Egypt. Gadot as such was the natural choice to star in the film as her name Gal means "wave" and Gadot means "riverbank." Gadot will actually be wearing the famous 128-carat Tiffany Diamond, made famous by Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tifffany's." As a tour guide of Israel, sometimes I am approached to create a full Middle East adventure for my clients. Want to visit Petra, the rose-red city in Jordan which features in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and is a one of the New & Wonders of the World? No problem - I can help with that. Want to visit the pyramids of Egypt along with the temples in Luxor and Abu Simbel? I can make that happen. You might , however, want to reconsider the Nile cruise after this movie :).

The movie is schedule to be released October 23 - of course we are still awaiting the [obviously postponed] release of Gadot's epic film Wonder Woman 1984.

Check out the trailer for the new Death on the Nile below - as well as the trailer from the 1978 film. While I am usually not a fan of reboots, you can see that it is quite dated.
