On my most recent Israel tech tour, I took my students to visit an incredible Israeli startup called Xtend which uses 3D Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology to direct drones in flight for a totally immersive user experience. I have to tell you, my group and I were absolutely blown away by what we saw. When they discussed the potential applications of this cutting edge tech [which for example, as of February, Xtend has used to take down 2500 balloon bombs coming from Gaza], I don't think anyone could have imagined this... saving an endangered species by filling the role of a "mama bird."
That's right. Xtend was called upon recently to save the life of an orphaned baby griffon vulture which was nesting in a desert canyon cliff.
